| And ...we're off! |
Our journey has begun. We have completed the first leg of the trip and have arrived safely in California for a week of training. It is hard to believe that after months and months of preparing, the time is finally here. The past weeks have been filled with good times with family and friends, last minute preparations, and lots of packing and repacking and repacking.
Yesterday we experienced an amazing send off from our home community. It was an overwhelming outpouring of love, encouragement, and affirmation from the people we love. To everyone one that was involved in putting together this wonderful day, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We could not have been more blessed. To everyone that was there, thank you for loving us. Thank you for celebrating our future with us and grieving with us through the pain of leaving. Thank you for lifting us up. You have given us a foundation of support, and without that we couldn't make it. As Aaron said, when the Chinese see us, they will see you, because you are a part of us.
Our emotions culminated this morning at sunrise when we said tearful good byes to our family at the airport. We had an ontourage of 12 people that we had to pull ourselves away from. Thank you, family, for enduring the pain of separation so that we can go to where we have been called. The love and support that you have given us throughout our lives has enabled us to be who we are meant to be. We love you. |

Be safe and have fun! We'll talk of you to dad all the time. We don't know how much you'll be in contact but we will be thinking of you and know you are going to have a fruitful time there.

It was good to read your latest update on the Blog. You must be really getting excited . Just think, China next week! There is sadness in leaving family and friends behind but there is excitemenet in the new adventure you are about the embark on.
