| Update |
Well, it's all set. We have our tickets. On January 1st we'll bring in the New Year by flying to Chiang Mai, Thailand, where we'll wait for little Ellie to arrive. Thank you to all of you who have been lifting us up. It's quite an ordeal to bring a child into the world. Trying to figure out how to do that in Thailand for an American child with parents living in China, has been pretty overwhelming. But our requests are being answered. We were put in contact with two women in Chiang Mai that have lots of experience with delivering babies there. They've given us lots of info on the hospitals and doctors there. One of them has even volunteered to do labor and delivery support for us. What a blessing! It takes away a lot of the fear about delivering in a strange place knowing that we'll have someone to guide us through the process. We're planning on staying in Thailand until the end of February because it will take that long to get the baby's birth certificate, passport and visa. I know that we'll enjoy sunny Thailand, but after two months, I'm sure we'll be ready to get back home.
We still appreciate your thoughts for the coming month. There's still lots to figure out (paperwork, immunizations, packing, etc) and lots to do (finish up classes, give exams, grade exams, do Christmas). It'll be a busy month, but we know everything will come together. This is the time of year when we often have significant opportunities with students, so we're always excited about that.
Aaron is traveling right now. This is his second trip in the past few weeks. So far the position he's serving in has been a big responsibility, but also very worthwhile. As for me, I'm getting bigger and bigger. The doctor says everything is looking healthy and normal. We're both getting very excited about becoming parents. Only 9 more weeks! |
