Well, we finally got it- a picture of the famous split pants. We’ve tried many times, but not succeeded. The little ones move around so much, it’s hard to get the right angle…and it’s a little awkward to follow a little toddler around aiming the camera at his butt! My dad must be credited with taking this shot. If you’ve heard us talk about China, chances are you’ve heard us talk about split pants. The Chinese don’t use diapers. Instead, they make baby pants with a split in the crotch and so the little one just goes whenever he needs to go. I’m not sure how this works in the home. We see it outside all the time. Usually the mother helps the child squat along the street. This is why we always walk around any mysterious wet spots on the ground. It is also why we always remove our shoes at the door of our home. The Chinese say that diapers are bad for children’s future fertility. Crazy, I know, but how do you argue fertility with the world’s most populous nation? Anyway, wearing no diapers may gross us foreigners out, but you have to admit…baby bums are pretty darn cute! |
and now the question is will little baby wheeler have split pants? :o)
