| Christmas Highlights |
Well, we made it safe and sound to sunny Thailand. We will update you more on Thailand soon, but first I wanted to backtrack and show a few highlights from Christmas. Hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas. Ours was crazy busy but filled with lots of fun memories. Here are a few:
We had a Christmas party for all of our English Major students. This is the third semester I've had these students and Aaron also taught them this semester. They are a great group.

They have been watching my belly grow all semester. They like to feel and see if she's moving. They're all very excited to meet Ellie.

Our school had a banquet for us. They served us delicacies like spicy donkey meat. We decided to entertain them with a few Christmas songs. (The Chinese love it when people sing). As planned, when we finished a rousing rendition of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" our teammate burst in the door with a full Santa costume on. He had presents for our school officials. He went over to our acdemic dean and asked "Have you been a good boy this year?" All the officials loved it and wanted their picture taken with Santa.
On Christmas day our team met at our place to exchange gifts and eat breakfast. Later they came back and we had a great Christmas dinner together. We all managaged to squeeze around a table. It's hard being away from family during Christmas, so being with our team helped a lot. We're even developing our own team traditions.
One of those traditions is to exchange white elephant gifts on Christmas Eve, which is fun to do because we live in the world's best place to find white elephant gifts. Here we are sporting our favorite gift, dating mittens! The mittens in the middle are connected so you can hold hands and keep them nice and warm inside your mitten. Very romantic and practical! |
