After many days of agonizing wait, some of which felt like the longest I've ever experienced, my beloved daughter came into the world. Isabelle Grace.
The labor was pretty smooth and short, all things considering. Danielle was pretty far along by the time we made it to the hospital, especially since in some respects she was already in labor for over a week. From the time we arrived until Ellie came was close to four hours. Add in her size - 9 lbs, 9 oz; 21 inches long; 14cm head - she rushed out like she was on fire. My darling wife continued to amaze me. Sure, she experienced pain, but she also demonstrated a grace, toughness, and perseverance I've always known she was capable of but was lucky to be able to witness. She even did it all without medicine.
We've been doing well in the aftermath. The nights are tough, as expected. The hospital staff epitomizes the joy of Thai hospitality and makes our stay comfortable.
I've put a couple of pictures below, but if you click on the Flickr badge to the right, you can see a few more. Thanks to everyone for your supportive emails and congratulations. It's tough doing this so far from the people we love, but we've felt your support from across the ocean.

congratlations you three! I'm having Chris bring a little gift for Ellie when she comes (just don't look too closely at it, it's handmade (hint hint). Enjoy that beautiful little girl every waking moment (which unfortunately will be many!) :o)

Wow! I have been following along with your blog since you moved to China. Danielle, it has been so fun watching your pregnancy via photos. And now Ellie is in the world! I'm so proud of you - it must be a scary thing to start this phase of life so far from home. The pictures are beautiful. My favorites are the pics of Danielle and Ellie together. No offense, Aaron. :) Three T2 babies were scheduled to be born right around this time, so we'll see if you were the first. Enjoy your time in Thailand. :)

It was so fun to read about Ellie's birth. I'm so happy for all of you. Ellie is just beautiful and I've especially loved reading about what you two parents have experienced since she came into the world. Parenthood must be incredible (and incredibly hard).
