Home Sweet Home

After more than three months of living out of our suitcases, we are finally in our new home. We now reside on our university campus in the “Foreign Expert Building.” The Chinese have given us this term “Foreign Expert,” and we laugh at this because in China we are experts at nothing but being foreigners.

We live in the building with our six other teammates (more on them later) and other foreign teachers from different parts of the world as well as some foreign students. Our apartment is on the fourth floor, and with no elevator, this should help keep us in shape. We have a one bedroom apartment. We’ve unpacked all of our suitcases, and it still is quite bare. I’m excited to decorate and make it homey.

We don’t know when our classes will begin, but we’ve been told they will probably start in about 2 ½ weeks. We are spending that time getting to know our teammates, settling into our place, and getting to know our campus and surrounding area.

    Hi Danielle,
Yesterday and today were profesional development days for us at RESA. It was great seeing everyone after the summer and we all missed having you there. The taining on the think maps was great. The gal who ran the training was awesome and gave us so many great ideas. Then we went to our ELPA Telaconference. More ELPA testing this fall!!!!!
Our new room looks great. Sindi did a wonderful job of organizing it.
Enjoy your time with your students.
